We provide a comprehensive range of ophthalmic services, from NHS funded eye examinations to contact lens fitting and prescription eyewear and sunwear.

Eye Examinations

At Ochil Eyes, we believe the eye examination is about more than just making sure you have the right prescription. We believe its the single most important part of your journey with us.

Our test room features the most up to date equipment required to carry out thorough eye examinations including a fundus camera that allows us to take photo. 

If you or a someone you know finds it difficult to leave home unaided, you could be entitled to an NHS funded eye examination in the comfort of your own home.

Our optometrist Richard and a member of the practice team will come out to your home at a pre-arranged time and will call you the day before to make sure it is still convenient. Richard will ask you about your eye history and about any problems you may be having. 

He will then conduct an eye examination using equipment adapted for use on home visits. After your eye examination, he will discuss your eye health with you and any prescription requirements you may have. He can advise on the best kind of glasses for your needs and will then hand you over to Sam or Susy to discuss frame and lens options.

Being an independent practice allows us to offer a personalised and consistent service to our patients both in our practice and in your home. It will always be the same small team who come to visit you and who will answer any queries you may have via telephone. 

We will always be honest and give you the best advice for your needs. We allocate at least one hour for every home visit we do so we will not rush you and will take our time to ensure we get it rig

Contact Lenses

At Ochil Eyes we feel passionately that all people who require vision correction should have the option of trying contact lenses. Even if you’ve previously been told you are not suitable for contact lenses, new developments in contact lens technology may mean that’s no longer the case.

Contact Lenses

A lot of people believe that they cannot wear contact lenses because their prescription is too high or because they need multifocals. 

Some of our patients even believe they are too old to try contact lenses for the first time. We say you are never too old to try something for the first time. 

While for some, contact lenses are not a viable option, we have fitted dozens of patients with contact lenses who previously believed they could not wear them.
